The MC34064 is an undervoltagesensing circuit designed specifically foruse as a reset controller in microprocessor-based systems. It offers the designeran economical, space-efficient solutionfor low supply voltage detection whenused in combination with a single pullupresistor. Adding one capacitor offersthe functionality of a programmable
delay time after power returns. The34064 consists of a temperature stablereference comparator with hysteresis,high current clamping diode and opencollector output stage capable ofsinking up to 60mA. The MC34064'sRESET
output is specified to be fullyfunctional at VIN=1V. A major improvementover competing products is theglitch-free supply current duringundervoltage detection.
